Spain to Open Borders From July 1

Spain is now joining the list of countries easing border restrictions just in time for summer travel

Countries across the globe are easing border restrictions and gradually opening their doors to welcome tourists again. The latest to join them is Spain, opening up to welcome travellers from July 1 with no quarantine mandate.

The opening rules are yet to be decided. However, common rules will be in place in the Schengen Area, along with the UK. What will be kept in mind are security guarantees, health capacity and transparency.

Spain will open up gradually, to areas with the same epidemiological situation as them, not only to countries, but regions as well.

Known for its vast coastline and cultural blend, Spain is also considering the possibility of opening its borders outside the European Union. However, the decision has to come from the European Center for Disease Control and will be based upon optimal epidemiological conditions.

Spain is hoping to achieve new normalcy, which is why it has decided to open itself up for both national and international tourists just in time for summer travel.

The country has also been carrying out work to implement maximum hygienic-sanitary measures to reduce the risk of COVID-19. With these guidelines in place, Spain is also doing away with its mandatory quarantine.
